STAR Testing is OVER!

W00t!!! Star testing is over… and we get to go to school late for the next two days! The bio section was ridiculously easy… probably because the stereotypical American fails at science, and the standards are set to their level.

Speech and Debate Leadership

Speech and debate leadership applications are now available.  You can download them here (PDF file).  Speech and debate leadership sounds like a really fun thing to do.  Out of the possible jobs, which ones should I apply for?

List:

  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Event Manager
  • Congress Captain
  • Interpretation Captain
  • Expository Speech Captain
  • Oratory Speech Captain
  • Spontaneous Speech Captain
  • Parliamentary Debate Captain
  • Public Forum Debate Captain
  • Policy Debate Captain
  • Lincoln-Douglas Debate Captain

Obviously, I can’t apply for captain of events I don’t do, like LD, PoFo, or CX.

Star Testing (cont.)

I’m currently typing this post inside of the star esting room. I have 20 minutes left of the period, and I haven’t found anything better to do… . Seeing as I forgot to bring a book. Oh well, blogging is as good as anything, really. However, the keyboard is a little laggy – a pain when I can’t see what I’m typing.
Today’s test was on mathematics. I had actually expected it to be a little harder, but it turned out to be relatively easy, albeit time-consuming.
An interesting fact about the Algebra II test: more than half of it is an “optional” juniors-only section which is supposed to determine the level of success one would have in college mathematics. Unfortunately, there was no section in the answer sheet for me to do it… I would have liked to see what it’d be like.
