West Valley College
Today I was able to go to WVC to register for concurrent enrollment in the fall. My two possible courses are Math 4A and Physics 4A, both of which are useful classes. Luckily, I get to skip the assessment test because of AP scores (Calc BC is Math 3A, Compsci is CS 4A)
I also received my Lamy Safari in the mail – its a nice pen, albeit not as fountainy as I expected.
A Weekly Post
I haven’t had much to say this past week, and so haven’t posted anything. At work, I’ve been doing some new things – both in the lab and on my computer. On the note of the computer, my Dell Vostro 1320 is now running on an external monitor kindly donated by my father, and my Thinkpad X60s seems to have become my primary device. The external monitor is big – bigger than any I’ve owned before… 19″ or 20″, I can’t really tell. Of course, the big screen is a burden on the graphics card, but it deals, albeit a little slower than before.
Laptop Screen Broken
My laptop screen was broken today at work, sadly. I had left it in the lab… and then came back and found the screen broken. Lacking an extra external monitor for work, I had to resort to using my extra laptop, a Thinkpad x60s. I guess I’ll deal, since I can still access the data on the laptop – the only thing seriously damaged was the screen.
Back from Philmont!!!
I arrived back from Philmont at 1:06 AM this morning, and wrote this post from my in-Philmont journal entries. It was an awesome trip, and I think everyone should at least try to go once.

Day 1: On the Plane
On the first day of my Philmont expedition, we flew out to Denver, CO and stopped over there for about two hours. As I stated in my previous post, the time we had to arrive at SFO was somewhere in the vicinity of 4:30AM, and thus we were quite tired. The flight itself was rather boring – inflight entertainment has really gotten worse over the years, and they didn’t even give us peanuts to eat on the way. During the stopover, we ate lunch at the airport and waited for the Denver-Alberquerque flight to begin boarding. Upon arrival at Alberquerque International Sunport, we met up with the Blue Sky Adventures tour guide.
