Continued from Windslayer
PVP, or Player vs. Player, is a central component of Windslayer. It is actually needed in order to complete job advancements, and is probably the most fun part of the game.
In PVP, the worst enemy of all players is lag. As Windslayer PVP is real-time, a slow internet connection will cause your character to miss and be hit more than you would expect. The graphical representation on-screen of your character’s relative position is not necessarily what others see – and each Windslayer client calculates the damage done to a character on its own, then uploads it to the Outspark central server.
The six classes in windslayer are suited for different types of battle.
Mages, who do the most damage, attack slowly and only at medium range – meaning that it is harder to defeat faster foes with more health. Mages also tend to have less total HP as compared to the other characters, leading to early death.
Archers, on the other hand, have the weapons with the highest range. It makes it very annoying to face an archer, as they are no slouch at dealing damage, either.
Monks are ideally suited for attacking multiple foes at once. They have a short range, but an incredibly frustrating rate-of-fire (at least from their victim’s perspective). A monk can easily deal 4-5 attacks in a row before switching to the next enemy, all within a few seconds.
Rogues are probably the most… interesting class to battle. They often use a combination attack similar to Stun+stab+stab+stab+stab+Poison, which deals a significant amount of damage. However, when faced with a coordinated attack, a rogue often is unable to overcome the inability to easily attack more than one enemy.
Clerics are the support class of PVPers. They can cast heal and transfer MP to their teammates, giving them an edge over their opponents. In direct battle, clerics must resort to strong attacks (a level 7 skill) and healing to live, and the game often ends in a draw.
Warriors are the so-called “tanks” of Windslayer PVP. They both deal and take a huge amount of damage over time. They absorb attacks to allow the powerful spells cast by mages through, while simultaneously freezing/burning/slashing their opponents to pieces.
